Mares

FS Lucky Tater ("Taters")
2001 Chestnut mare
Unfortunately, I do not have a performance picture of this pretty little mare. She is one of two mares I bought when I was looking for a complete outcross to Bubba. It was tough finding a quality mare with no DOC BAR, Little Peppy or King.I found Taters as a two year old in Idaho. We started her under saddle with full intentions of showing her, only to discover the poor little thing was pregnant!! She had been accidentally bred as a yearling by a half brother before we purchased her. So much for her show career. It was a shame as she was a real sweet heart to start and very athletic, being double bred Jody Fairfax and Lucky Bottom Ann. If you don't know those two horses, you should. Jody Fairfax kicked the stuffing out of Little Peppy in the show pen and sent 7 out of his small first foal crop to the NCHA futurity finals.Lucky Bottom Ann was one of the best performance mares in the history of cutting. THis is a very exciting cross on CHICS IN THE MALE. Tater's babies are so extremely soft and kind I tell everyone they are "born broke".

Glory
Majorita Peppy 1996 sorrel mare out of HyVista Star  and by Peppy Badger Chex.  This beautiful mare is a huge stopper, plus spins, solid lead changes and tons of style in her circles.  A sweetheart to be around, this mare is world class.

March 2010 Update - After being shown at Oklahoma and getting her ROM in Reining, Glory has been retired as a broodmare. Her first baby is "Jets"...wow!!!

Smokin Aech "Pockets"...
I looked a long time to find a mare for an complete outcross to Bubba that still had the quality I demand. I found her in Indiana. She is a granddaughter of Mr.Gunsmoke with Huron Star on the topside and out of a granddaughter of Be Aech Enterprise and Okie Joe Glo. She was three and not started so we started her to see what we had. She is athletic, stingy and smart. Just what I wanted. So we bred her and are waiting anxiously for her first Bubba Baby in 2005.

March 2010 Update: Pockets has now produced 4 foals by CHICS IN THE MALE. The oldest, SG No Smokins Smart, is incredibly cowy and athletic. I am cutting on him after only 5 months of cutting training. He is really cute and a VERY good cutter, considering the short time I could send him out for training. We don't have cattle, and Smoke is lucky to see cattle twice a month. My schedule does not let me get out to too many competitions with him, but we have never scored lower than a 71!! Pocket's foals are very sensitive, feely, reactive and quick footed. They take a little longer to start but man...you have something if you are a competent rider/trainer.

Paula (DECEASED)
Big M Paula Chic 1974 bay mare
out of Paulina Pocoday and by Chicado Chick. She was a talented cutter and this beautiful old mare's pedigree reads like the Legends book. Granddaughter of Three Bars, she has Chicado V, Chicaro Bill, Poco  Bueno, Wimpy's Tejona, O'Possum and Dina Q on her papers. She was no longer producing, so we have left her last son, Pauls Emale, a stallion.

Star (DECEASED)
Hy Vista Star 1980 sorrel mare out of Dee Bar Superstar and by Major Bonanza. We are holding our breath every year as this incredible mare ages. A great cutter herself, Star has produced a top level roping horse, an NRHA Futurity Finalist, NRHA Open Champions, Futurity Champion and is on the NRHA leading dam list. Every one of her babies is big, beautiful, smart and talented.
